Often, the answer the answer to our prayer does not come while we’re on our knees but while we’re on our feet serving the Lord and serving those around us.
How do you treat people who serve you? One of the greatest tests of your character is how you treat people who are trying to serve you. Whether it’s a waitress, waiter, clerk, employee, secretary, your children or your spouse-how you treat those who serve you tells a great deal about you. Jesus tells us, ” Do to others as you would have them do to you – Luke 6:31″ That may be the simplest yet most important character test in the Bible. A social psychologist once said, ” Rudeness is the weak man’s imitation of strength.” It takes no intelligent at all to be rude. Often we’re most disrespectful to the people who care about the most. Courtesy is just love in the little things. It’s showing respect for people by being kind even in the smallest areas of our lives. If your character is being judged by how you treat people who served you, how do you think it would be assessed ?
As follower of Jesus Christ, he expects you to obey whatever he tell you to do-even it doesn’t make sense. Reflection taken from Luke 5:4-5.. ” but because you say so. I will let down the nets. I don’t know what God’s already told you to do, but I will tell you this; Disobedience always hurts you, because you miss the blessing. You can trust God because He always has your best interests in mind, even if you can’t see it right away. What keeps you from trusting that God’s way is better than yours?
Why your way isn’t working? ” When Jesus had finished speaking, he said to Simon.’Put out into deep water, and let down, the nets for a catch .’ Simon answered. “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. but because you say so, I will let down the nets- Luke 5: 4-5 ” you may be doing your best in your job, but you just don’t seem to have much show for it.Let go of your pride, stubbornness, and fear- and see how Jesus can take your boat and fill it to overflowing. Are you willing to let Jesus take control?
” A wise person is hungry for knowledge, while the fool feeds on trash- Proverbs 15:14 ” Our minds control everything else about us. Our thoughts influence our feelings. Our feelings impact our actions. What you think natters, because everything starts in the mind. To be a responsible person, you have to control your thoughts. Your responsible fro how you deal with those stray thoughts. Martin Luther said it like this ” You can’t keep the birds from flying over your head, but you can keep them from building a nest in your hair.” God will hold you accountable for what you allow to enter your mind. In other words. ” garbage in, garbage out’ What you put in your mind will inevitably bear fruit in your behavior and beliefs.
Dear Heavenly Father,thank you for the goodnight sleep and the beautiful day that welcomes me as I wake up. God, please enlightened my mind with truth; inflame my heart with love; inspire my will with courage. enrich my life with service. Pardon what I have be; sanctify what I am; and order what I shall be. Thank you Lord God for another day.Amen.
Miracles always come from unexpected sources. The way you want to meet the need in your life is not the way God wants to meet it. Your way is the second best. God’s ways is always best. Most of us have needs in our lives that we want met. And many of us try to figure how to get them fulfilled. Isaiah 55:8 says ; ” My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts; says the Lord. And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine” Trust God, and say, ” I don’t know how God is going to do.it, but he will do it.”.How do you think God wants you to show your faith in him to provide your miracle?
A father’s prayer for the children. Jesus reflected the father heart of God when he prayed for the disciples. Jesus prayed for all five purposes in the lives of those he was leading.
- Live for Christ joyfully;
- grow strong spiritually;
- serve Christ effectively.
- experience fellowship personally
- bring others to Christ regular. As the book of John 17:9 ” I pray for them. I am not praying or the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. “
We will all be hurt in this life. Many times we’ll be hurt intentionally by what people say about us or what people do to us.In fact anytime we read the word ” forgiveness” we instantly call to mind certain heartaches, hurts, and problems from our past. The memories are still fresh because we’ve been hurt deeply and it’s hard to consider forgiving the perpetrators. but the Bible gives us one very important reason we need to forgive, taken from Ephesians 4:32 ” Be kind and passionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God gave you.” Ponder how much God has forgiven you, and it’ll cause you to be more forgiving of those who have hurt you. Remember this : No matter what anyone does to you , you’ll never have to forgive any other person more than God has already forgiven you. What you think about forgiveness. Who comes to your mind? If it’s someone you need to forgive, what will you do now?
